 This rare succulent is a true botanical celebrity, once feared extinct before being rediscovered clinging to the rocky cliffs of India's Western Ghats.

It is a "living fossil" that looks like a cross between a lush plant and a desert cactus, making it a prized trophy for rare plant collectors.

In a pot, it requires exceptionally sharp drainage; use a gritty "cactus mix" to prevent the roots from suffocating in heavy soil.

Don’t panic if it suddenly drops its leaves! This plant is deciduous during dry or cold spells. It sheds its foliage to protect its water reserves and will sprout new leaves once the environment improves.
